AIM-EF kick-off meeting held at PTB
The AIM-EF consortium at the project kick-off meeting, PTB Braunschweig, June 2026.
The AIM-EF consortium came together at PTB in Braunschweig, Germany, for the project's kick-off meeting. Over three days, partners from across Europe set the course for the next 36 months of work.
The programme combined laboratory tours and hands-on sessions with overviews and challenges for each work package — WP1 (RISE), WP2 (INRIM), WP3 (UoP), WP4 (NPL) and the impact activities (NSAI) — alongside focused mini-workshops on low-noise pre-amplifiers, active current equalizers and thin-film resistor modelling. A dedicated scientific session covered topics ranging from quantum Hall devices and the farad, to impedance bridges from Wheatstone to Josephson, grid impedance, 1-port standards.
AIM-EF officially starts
The 36-month project “Advancing impedance metrology in an extended frequency range” (25IEM05) begins. Coordinated by PTB, the consortium of 18 European partners will work towards SI-traceable, accurate impedance measurements from 100 mHz to 2 MHz.
